ASSOCIATED COURSE: HOW TO USE DANCE THERAPY TO HELP THOSE SUFFERING FROM PAIN

01. December 2021

This hands-on workshop is for all who are interested in using dance movement therapy and other mind body practices as a tool to help those suffering from acute and chronic pain start to find their own way into healing. By drawing on dance movement therapy theory and practice, mindfulness practices like simple breath meditation and body-mind work such as the Alexander Technique Madeline will teach a framework that allows for individual exploration whilst drawing on the safe support of the group.

Teacher: Madeline Solomon, MA, PDDS

Madeline has been using creative arts therapies as a healing tool for clients from infants to seniors both individually and in group settings for the past 15 years (92nd St Y, JCC, NY). She has worked across a range of populations including children with special needs and seniors with dementia. Her DMT training and MA in Psychology from Oxford University richly informs her work as does her experience as a performer, musician, artist and puppeteer and her sensitivity, curiosity, and warmth.
