In this course, you will immerse yourself in the origins and development of dance and movement therapy – in a lively, practical, and easy-to-understand way. You will learn about its roots, understand the influential trends, and be able to clearly identify its place in today’s medical and therapeutic world.

The dialogue between modern dance—which understood movement as an expression of personality, freedom, and philosophy of life—and psychotherapy, which increasingly recognized the body as the key to the soul, gave rise to dance therapy, a unique form of therapy, in the 20th century.

Today, dance therapy is also being researched scientifically within the framework of the embodiment paradigm—an expression of how closely the body, psyche, and culture are intertwined.
